Chapter 4 "I nearly lost him," Ki whispered, his voice very thick with emotion now. "I nearly lost us." He banged his fist against his chest. "We nearly died," he breathed out, his voice finally cracking. And as Ki began to weep, Ion moved across the room and folded his arms around his broad waist. Turning his cheek in, he leaned it against Ki's arm, hugging him as best as he could, trying to comfort the tall man who had so easily fallen from his stature as warrior and protector. "I know," he whispered and closed his own eyes. |
